History of Woop Woop

Opened in April 2000

In 2000 Melva and Andy Graham opened Woop Woop to the public. Their aim was to celebrate Aussie language and culture. And to keep some of the colourful sayings, rhyming slang and larrikin nature alive for visitors to enjoy.

Woop Woop soon became popular with coach tours, clubs and families as a quirky and hilarious place to visit.

Melva's scones earnt a reputation and Andy's interactive sculptures had many scratching their heads wondering how he came up with ideas. Melva's prowess as an awarded artist is on show on many of the sculptures.

Many locals celebrated birthdays at Woop Woop and brought their visitors to enjoy the sculptures, garden and interactive games.

In 2024, Woop Woop welcomed a new family: Judy and Amanda Gleeson. Judy loves language and the punny nature of Woop Woop and her daughter Amanda has a love of Australian vegetation and wildlife. Between them they will continue developing Woop Woop and opening it to the public regularly.
